Over recent years adventure tourism has become increasingly important to the town with the development of Kicking Horse Resort (seen top left) as well as many other activities relying on the two rivers and endless peaks that surround the town.

Named for the prominent snowy '7' that appears most clearly in late June / early July each year, but can also been seen as a shadow at certain times during the winter months. Mount 7 is a stunning location for hiking, biking, para and hang-gliding, as well as the summer pilgrimage to ski / snowboard the '7'.

This aerial shot shows why Golden Golf Club is credited as one of the most scenic courses in BC. Nestled between the Purcell and Rocky Mountains, the course has spectacular views from every hole, and water coming into play as the Columbia River and Holt Creek wind their way around and through the course.
