• One of the premier day hikes from Golden, BC, Gorman Lake as seen from the air. At the end of a rugged forest service road, the hike winds its way up through the forest, over boardwalks to the boulder fields at the front of image.   • Mount 7

    Named for the prominent snowy '7' that appears most clearly in late June / early July each year, but can also been seen as a shadow at certain times during the winter months. Mount 7 is a stunning location for hiking, biking, para and hang-gliding, as well as the summer pilgrimage to ski / snowboard the '7'.
  • Renowned for both its x-country and downhill mountain biking opportunities, Golden has a number of epic trails, some of which combine classic single track trails with stunning views around the Columbia Valley. On the “Terminator” ridgeline just south of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, David Gagnon and Martin Lafontaine enjoy some late season conditions.

  • Looking west from Kicking Horse Mountain Resort into the Purcells, the sun drops behind the infamous Canyon Creek “slackcountry” casting a Golden glow above the beautifully lit ridge lines and peaks.
  • The Columbia Wetlands are nestled between the Rocky & Purcell Mountain Ranges and provide essential winter habitat for hundreds of elk and deer, as well as moose, wolves, cougars, coyotes, beavers, river otters and grizzly bears.
