Overview

If you find yourself leaving your camera on the “little green circle” and only using auto features, and meanwhile being frustrated that you are not getting the quality of photos that you would like to achieve, then this course is for you!

On this short introductory course we focus on using your camera’s semi-auto modes to capture better images.  The course gives an introduction to both Aperture and Shutter Speed priority modes, as well as some key tools and common practices in composing a good image.

Learning to use your camera to its full capabilities is great fun.  Time is split between classroom and field sessions to ensure you get the most from the course.  In the classroom you will learn how your camera works and what settings are best used for different situations and types of image.  We will then spend time at Kicking Horse putting what you have learned into practice with hands-on tuition.

Small group sizes ensure that you get the attention to get the most out of the course.

Testimonial

“I was a typical candidate for the ‘get your camera off automatic’ course. Frustrated that I couldn’t produce certain results on auto, I signed up hoping to learn a couple of things. I completely underestimated what I would learn.”
