Course Overview
If you find yourself leaving your camera on the green auto setting, and get frustrated that you are not getting the quality of photos that you would like to achieve, then this course is for you. For personal use, or for practical applications in a commercial environment, learning how to use your camera to its full capabilities is fun and rewarding!
Learning to use your camera’s manual modes when you are used to auto mode may seem a little daunting, but through using some of the semi auto modes and getting a full understanding of both aperture and shutter speeds, you will soon find yourself rarely using the fully automatic mode, and often exploring the benefits of the fully manual mode.
Alongside understanding how the camera works and how to control both the aperture and shutter speed, we take a look at some key tools and common practices in composing a good image as well as techniques to help you capture better photos.
At the end of this course you will know when and where to use different photographic techniques to ensure you can capture more engaging images on a regular basis.
“Its been over 3 years since I took Dave’s “Getting Off Auto Mode” photography class. Using a good balance of theory and practise, Dave teaches the nuts and bolts of photo taking in a clear concise, easy to understand
manner. I noticed an instant improvement in my photos after completing the class and to this day I continue to see my efforts improve. My keep vs trash ratio has improved immensely! Thanks Dave, I look forward to any more classes that you may be offering!”
